The POWER In Your PAUSE, Pt. 1
1. You need to PAUSE and realize God is your REFUGE and STRENGTH.
(vv. 1-3)
Psalm 46:1-3 (ESV) – God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in
trouble. 2 Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the
mountains be moved into the heart of the sea, 3 though its waters roar and foam,
though the mountains tremble at its swelling. Selah
Refuge –
Isaiah 40:31 (ESV) – but they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they
shall walk and not faint.

Trouble –
Isaiah 54:10 (ESV) – For the mountains may depart and the hills be removed, but
my steadfast love shall not depart from you, and my covenant of peace shall not
be removed,” says the LORD, who has compassion on you.

Psalm 46:4-7 (ESV) – There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God,
the holy habitation of the Most High. 5 God is in the midst of her; she shall not be
moved; God will help her when morning dawns. 6 The nations rage, the kingdoms
totter; he utters his voice, the earth melts. 7 The LORD of hosts is with us; the God
of Jacob is our fortress. Selah

Isaiah 17:14 (NLT2) – In the evening Israel waits in terror, but by dawn its enemies
are dead. This is the just reward of those who plunder us, a fitting end for those
who destroy us.

And you will say in that day: “Give thanks to the LORD, call upon his name, make
known his deeds among the peoples, proclaim that his name is exalted. 5 “Sing
praises to the LORD, for he has done gloriously; let this be made known in all the
earth. 6 Shout, and sing for joy, O inhabitant of Zion, for great in your midst is the
Holy One of Israel.”
Psalm 30:5 (NLT2) – For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a
lifetime! Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning.
