2. Scripture Reading:

Psalm 27 (NKJV)
27 The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid? 2 When the wicked came against me To eat[a] up my flesh, My enemies and foes, They stumbled and fell. 3 Though an army may encamp against me, My heart shall not fear; Though war may rise against me, In this I will be confident. 4 One thing I have desired of the Lord, That will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the Lord All the days of my life, To behold the [b]beauty of the Lord, And to inquire in His temple. 5 For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion; In the secret place of His tabernacle He shall hide me; He shall set me high upon a rock. 6 And now my head shall be [c]lifted up above my enemies all around me; Therefore I will offer sacrifices of [d]joy in His tabernacle; I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the Lord. 7 Hear, O Lord, when I cry with my voice! Have mercy also upon me, and answer me. 8 When You said, “Seek My face,” My heart said to You, “Your face, Lord, I will seek.” 9 Do not hide Your face from me; Do not turn Your servant away in anger; You have been my help; Do not leave me nor forsake me, O God of my salvation. 10 When my father and my mother forsake me, Then the Lord will take care of me. 11 Teach me Your way, O Lord,
And lead me in a smooth path, because of my enemies. 12 Do not deliver me to the will of my adversaries; For false witnesses
have risen against me, And such as breathe out violence. 13 I would have lost heart, unless I had believed That I would see the goodness of the Lord In the land of the living. 14 Wait[e] on the Lord; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord!

How To WAIT When God Seems SLOW, Pt. 1

1. Realize your TIMING is not The LORD’s timing (vv. 1-2).

Psalm 13:1-2 (NKJV) – How long, O LORD? Will You forget me forever? How long will You hide Your face from me? 2 How long shall I take counsel in my soul, Having sorrow in my heart daily? How long will my enemy be exalted over me?

2. You need to REQUEST The LORD’s HELP (vv. 3-4)

Psalm 13:3-4 (NKJV) – Consider and hear me, O LORD my God; Enlighten my eyes, Lest I sleep the sleep of death; 4 Lest my enemy say, “I have prevailed against him”; Lest those who trouble me rejoice when I am moved.

How To WAIT When God Seems SLOW, Pt. 2

3. You need to REST in The LORD’s LOVE for you (v. 5a)

Psalm 13:5a (NKJV) – But I have trusted in Your mercy;

Psalm 13:3-4 (NKJV) – Consider and hear me, O LORD my God; Enlighten my eyes, Lest I sleep the sleep of death; 4 Lest my enemy say, “I have prevailed against him”; Lest those who trouble me rejoice when I am moved.

4. You need to REJOICE in The LORD’s GOODNESS (vv. 5b-6)
Psalm 13:5b-6 (NKJV) – . . . My heart shall rejoice in Your salvation. 6 I will sing to the LORD, Because He has dealt bountifully with me.

A. Sometimes He makes you wait so He can work on YOU to help you GROW AND GET YOU READY!

B. Sometimes He makes you wait because He’s preparing something SPECIAL for you.

C. Sometimes He makes you wait so He can do MORE for you than you ASK or EXPECT.

Psa. 25:21 – Let integrity and uprightness preserve me, For I wait for Thee.

Psa. 27:14 – Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.

Psa. 37:7-9 – Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass. 8Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil. 9For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth.

Psa. 39:7 – And now, Lord, what wait I for? my hope is in thee.

Psa. 40:1 – I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.

Lamentations 3:25-26 – The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him. 26It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.

Isa. 40:28-31 – Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. 29He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. 30Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: 31But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
