Leader: 13 Do not be surprised, brothers, that the world hates you.

Congregation: 14 We know that we have passed out of death into life,
because we love the brothers. Whoever does not love abides in death.

Leader: 15 Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know
that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.

Congregation: 16 By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us, and

How To LOVE One ANOTHER, Pt. 1

1. You need to realize GOD wants your LOVE to be REAL.

Romans 12:9 (ESV) – Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is
good.

Romans 12:9 (NLT2) – Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them. Hate what is
wrong. Hold tightly to what is good.

1 Timothy 1:5 (ESV) – The aim of our charge is love that issues from a pure heart and
a good conscience and a sincere faith.

1 Peter 1:22-23 (ESV) – Having purified your souls by your obedience to the truth for a
sincere brotherly love, love one another earnestly from a pure heart, 23 since you have
been born again, not of perishable seed but of imperishable, through the living and
abiding word of God;

1 John 3:18 (NLT2) – Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us
show the truth by our actions.

How To LOVE One ANOTHER, Pt. 2

1. You need to realize GOD wants your LOVE to be LIVED.

A. Your love is LIVED when it hates EVIL.

Romans 12:9 (ESV) – Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is
good.

Romans 12:9 (NLT2) – Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them. Hate what is
wrong. Hold tightly to what is good.

Abhor –

1 Thessalonians 5:22 (ESV) – Abstain from every form of evil.

Psalm 34:14 (ESV) –Turn away from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.

Psalm 97:10 (ESV) – O you who love the LORD, hate evil! He preserves the lives of his
saints; he delivers them from the hand of the wicked.

B. Your love is LIVED when it is COMMITTED to what is GOOD.

Romans 12:9 (ESV) – Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is
good.

such sacrifices are pleasing to God.

C. Your love is LIVED when it is SHOWN to others.

Romans 12:10 (ESV) – Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in
showing honor.

Romans 12:10 (NLT2) – Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in
honoring each other.
