Jehovah – Jireh: The LORD Who PROVIDES, Pt. 1
1. You need to realize there are times The LORD will TEST your FAITH.
Genesis 22:1 (NLT2) – Some time later, God tested Abraham’s faith. “Abraham!” God called. “Yes,” he replied. “Here I am.”
Tested – to test; prove, tempt, try.
Two reasons for a test:
A. To ascertain the STATE of your own FAITH.
B. To ascertain what MORE you need to LEARN about The LORD.
2. Your absolute SURRENDER to The LORD is dependent upon your willingness to make the ultimate SACRIFICE to The LORD.
Genesis 22:2 (NLT2) – “Take your son, your only son—yes, Isaac, whom you love so much—and go to the land of Moriah. Go and sacrifice him as a burnt offering on one of the mountains, which I will show you.”
Jehovah – Jireh: The LORD Who PROVIDES, Pt. 2
1. You can see The LORD _ what you _ when you make _ God your _ ____________.
Genesis 22:3-4 (NLT2) – The next morning Abraham got up early. He saddled his donkey and took two of his servants with him, along with his son, Isaac. Then he chopped wood for a fire for a burnt offering and set out for the place God had told him about. 4 On the third day of their journey, Abraham looked up and saw the place in the distance.
Deuteronomy 10:12 (ESV) – “And now, Israel, what does the LORD your God require of you, but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul,”
1 Samuel 12:24 (ESV) – Only fear the LORD and serve him faithfully with all your heart. For consider what great things he has done for you.

2. You can see The LORD __ ____________ what you _ ________ when you learn to _ ______________ God.
Genesis 22:5-8 (NLT2) – “Stay here with the donkey,” Abraham told the servants. “The boy and I will travel a little farther. We will worship there, and then we will come right back.” 6 So Abraham placed the wood for the burnt offering on Isaac’s shoulders, while he himself carried the fire and the knife. As the two of them walked on together, 7 Isaac turned to Abraham and said, “Father?” “Yes, my son?” Abraham replied. “We have the fire and the wood,” the boy said, “but where is the sheep for the burnt offering?” 8 “God will provide a sheep for the burnt offering, my son,” Abraham answered. And they both walked on together.
Worship –
Hebrews 11:17-19 (ESV) – By faith Abraham, when he was tested, offered up Isaac, and he who had received the promises was in the act of offering up his only son, 18 of whom it was said, “Through Isaac shall your offspring be named.” 19 He considered that God was able even to raise him from the dead, from which, figuratively speaking, he did receive him back.
Psalm 118:8 (NCV) – It is better to trust the LORD than to trust people.
Isaiah 26:3-4 (ESV) – You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. 4 Trust in the LORD forever, for the LORD GOD is an everlasting rock.
Romans 4:20-21 (ESV) – No unbelief made him waver concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong in his faith as he gave glory to God, 21 fully convinced that God was able to do what he had promised.
