Psalms 119:105: Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.
I. You must Order Your Steps in God’s Word (Ps. 119:105a)
105 Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.

All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof,
for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be
adequate, equipped for every good work.
Hebrews 4:12 (NASB)
12 For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any twoedged
sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of
both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of
the heart.
II. You Must Remember that God will Direct Your Path (Ps. 119:105b)
105 Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.
Light is symbolic of truth and understanding as opposed to error and
ignorance.
Psalms 119:130 – The unfolding of Your words gives light; It gives understanding
to the simple.
1 Peter 2:9 (NASB)
9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession,
so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His
marvelous light;
Application Questions:
1. How does God’s Word affect where you chose to step on life?
2. What is it that hinders us from walking in the light of God’s word?
3. Read 2 Timothy 3:16, and list some specific ways God’s word has blessed your life.
4. As you consider your experiences with the struggles and trials of life, describe how God directed
you during those tough times. How do you know it was God who led you?
5. In the backdrop of Psalms 119:105b, what is God’s path for your life?
6. What do you need to do if you have gotten off the path that God set before?
7. How vital are confession, forgiveness, repentance, and obedience in getting back on the right
path?
