2 Samuel 6: 8-11; Selected Scriptures

1. You need to check your REACTIONS when God DISCIPLINES you
for doing WRONG.
2 Samuel 6:8-9 (NLT2) – David was angry because the LORD’s anger had
burst out against Uzzah. He named that place Perez-uzzah (which means
“to burst out against Uzzah”), as it is still called today. 9 David was now afraid
of the LORD, and he asked, “How can I ever bring the Ark of the LORD back
into my care?”
A. Don’t become ANGRY.
2 Samuel 6:8 (NLT2) – David was angry because the LORD’s anger had
burst out against Uzzah. He named that place Perez-uzzah (which means

B. Don’t become AFRAID.
2 Samuel 6:9 (NLT2) – David was now afraid of the LORD, and he asked,
“How can I ever bring the Ark of the LORD back into my care?”
2. You need to make sure you don’t DOUBT what GOD can do
because of the WRONG you’ve DONE.
2 Samuel 6:9-10 (NLT2) – David was now afraid of the LORD, and he asked,
“How can I ever bring the Ark of the LORD back into my care?” 10 So David
decided not to move the Ark of the LORD into the City of David. Instead, he
took it to the house of Obed-edom of Gath.
3. You need to realize when you OBEY God He can BLESS you
ANYWHERE and at ANYTIME.
2 Samuel 6:10-11 (NLT2) – So David decided not to move the Ark of the
LORD into the City of David. Instead, he took it to the house of Obed-edom
of Gath. 11 The Ark of the LORD remained there in Obed-edom’s house for
three months, and the LORD blessed Obed-edom and his entire household.

have felt about moving the ark any further?
8. How hard is it to trust what God told you to do when things don’t go
well?
9. How encouraging is it to know God can bless you anywhere and at any
time?
10. What can you do this week to obey God in an area of your life where
you have previously disobeyed Him?
