1. You need to realize a ______________ test can come after a ___________
triumph.

Exodus 15:22-24 (NLT2) – Then Moses led the people of Israel away from the Red Sea,
and they moved out into the desert of Shur. They traveled in this desert for three days
without finding any water. 23 When they came to the oasis of Marah, the water was too
bitter to drink. So they called the place Marah (which means “bitter”). 24 Then the people
complained and turned against Moses. “What are we going to drink?” they demanded.

Philippians 2:14 (ESV) – Do all things without grumbling or disputing,

1 Peter 4:12-13 (ESV) – Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon
you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. 13 But rejoice insofar
as you share Christ’s sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad when his glory is
revealed.

2. You must cry out to The LORD for _________ when you’re dealing with bitter
________________, _______________ or _______________________.

Exodus 15:25 (NLT2) – So Moses cried out to the LORD for help, and the LORD showed
him a piece of wood. Moses threw it into the water, and this made the water good to drink.
It was there at Marah that the LORD set before them the following decree as a standard
to test their faithfulness to him.

Deuteronomy 4:29 (ESV) – But from there you will seek the LORD your God and you
will find him, if you search after him with all your heart and with all your soul.

Psalm 61:1-2 (ESV) – Hear my cry, O God, listen to my prayer; 2 from the end of the earth
I call to you when my heart is faint. Lead me to the rock that is higher than I,

Psalm 34:19 (ESV) – Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him
out of them all.

Isaiah 43:2 (ESV) – When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through
the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be
burned, and the flame shall not consume you.

Deuteronomy 8:2-4 (ESV) – And you shall remember the whole way that the LORD your
God has led you these forty years in the wilderness, that he might humble you, testing
you to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep his commandments or not.
3 And he humbled you and let you hunger and fed you with manna, which you did not
know, nor did your fathers know, that he might make you know that man does not live by
bread alone, but man lives by every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD. 4 Your
clothing did not wear out on you and your foot did not swell these forty years.

Exodus 16:4 (NLT2) – Then the LORD said to Moses, “Look, I’m going to rain down food
from heaven for you. Each day the people can go out and pick up as much food as they
need for that day. I will test them in this to see whether or not they will follow my
instructions.

John 6:5-6 (ESV) – Lifting up his eyes, then, and seeing that a large crowd was coming
toward him, Jesus said to Philip, “Where are we to buy bread, so that these people may
eat?” 6 He said this to test him, for he himself knew what he would do.

Romans 5:3-4 (NLT2) – We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for
we know that they help us develop endurance. 4 And endurance develops strength of
character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation.

God and do what is right in his sight, obeying his commands and keeping all his decrees,
then I will not make you suffer any of the diseases I sent on the Egyptians; for I am the
LORD who heals you.”.

2 Chronicles 7:14 (ESV) – if my people who are called by my name humble themselves,
and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven
and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

Psalm 103:2-3 (ESV) – Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits, 3 who
forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases,
