JEHOVAH-RAPHA: THE LORD Who HEALS, Pt. 1

1. You need to realize a BITTER test can come after a SWEET triumph.

Exodus 15:22-24 (NLT2) – Then Moses led the people of Israel away from the Red Sea,
and they moved out into the desert of Shur. They traveled in this desert for three days
without finding any water. 23 When they came to the oasis of Marah, the water was too
bitter to drink. So they called the place Marah (which means “bitter”). 24 Then the people
complained and turned against Moses. “What are we going to drink?” they demanded.

2. You must cry out to The LORD for HELP when you’re dealing with bitter
PEOPLE, PLACES or PREDICAMENTS.

Exodus 15:25 (NLT2) – So Moses cried out to the LORD for help, and the LORD showed
him a piece of wood. Moses threw it into the water, and this made the water good to drink.
It was there at Marah that the LORD set before them the following decree as a standard
to test their faithfulness to him.

JEHOVAH-RAPHA: THE LORD Who HEALS, Pt. 2

1. You must __________ The LORD in order to experience the full effect of His
______________ power in your __________.

Exodus 15:26 (NLT2) – He said, “If you will listen carefully to the voice of the LORD your
God and do what is right in his sight, obeying his commands and keeping all his decrees,
then I will not make you suffer any of the diseases I sent on the Egyptians; for I am the
LORD who heals you.”.

A. Your obedience can move The LORD to ___________ your ___________
situations and circumstances.

2 Kings 14:26-27 (NLT2) – For the LORD saw the bitter suffering of everyone in Israel,
and that there was no one in Israel, slave or free, to help them. 27 And because the LORD
had not said he would blot out the name of Israel completely, he used Jeroboam II, the
son of Jehoash, to save them.

B. Your obedience can move The LORD to ________ your bitter _________.

Psalm 73:21-26 (NLT2) – Then I realized that my heart was bitter, and I was all torn up
inside. 22 I was so foolish and ignorant— I must have seemed like a senseless animal
to you. 23 Yet I still belong to you; you hold my right hand. 24 You guide me with your
counsel, leading me to a glorious destiny. 25 Whom have I in heaven but you? I desire
you more than anything on earth. 26 My health may fail, and my spirit may grow weak,
but God remains the strength of my heart; he is mine forever.

Job 3:20 (ASV) – Wherefore is light given to him that is in misery, And life unto the bitter
in soul;

2 Chronicles 7:14 (ESV) – if my people who are called by my name humble themselves,
and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven
and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

Psalm 103:2-3 (ESV) – Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits, 3 who
forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases,

Psalm 147:3 (ESV) – He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.

2. You need to realize you can find a ________________ on the other side of
your ________________ experiences.

Exodus 15:27 (NLT2) – After leaving Marah, the Israelites traveled on to the oasis of
Elim, where they found twelve springs and seventy palm trees. They camped there beside
the water.

Psalm 16:11 (ESV) – You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is
fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

John 15:11 (ESV) – These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and
that your joy may be full.

2 Corinthians 9:8 (ESV) – And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that
having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.

Ephesians 3:20 (NLT2) – Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at
work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.

Hebrews 12:15 (NLT2) – Look after each other so that none of you fails to receive the
grace of God. Watch out that no poisonous root of bitterness grows up to trouble you,
corrupting many.

Ephesians 4:31-32 (NLT2) – Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and
slander, as well as all types of evil behavior. 32 Instead, be kind to each other,
tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.
