Scripture:

Matthew 21:1-11 (NKJV) – Now when they drew near
Jerusalem, and came to Bethphage, at the Mount of
Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples, 2 saying to
them, “Go into the village opposite you, and
immediately you will find a donkey tied, and a colt with
her. Loose them and bring them to Me. 3 And if
anyone says anything to you, you shall say, ‘The Lord
has need of them,’ and immediately he will send them.”
4 All this was done that it might be fulfilled which was
spoken by the prophet, saying: 5 “Tell the daughter of
Zion, ‘Behold, your King is coming to you, Lowly, and
sitting on a donkey, A colt, the foal of a donkey.’ ” 6 So
the disciples went and did as Jesus commanded them.
7 They brought the donkey and the colt, laid their
clothes on them, and set Him on them. 8 And a very
great multitude spread their clothes on the road; others
cut down branches from the trees and spread them on
the road. 9 Then the multitudes who went before and
those who followed cried out, saying: “Hosanna to the
Son of David! ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name
of the LORD!’ Hosanna in the highest!” 10 And when
He had come into Jerusalem, all the city was moved,
saying, “Who is this?” 11 So the multitudes said,
“This is Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth of Galilee.”

1. To be your greatest for God you must be a
DISCIPLE of JESUS CHRIST who makes DISCIPLES.

Matthew 28:16-20 (NLT) – Then the eleven disciples left
for Galilee, going to the mountain where Jesus had told
them to go. 17 When they saw him, they worshiped him—
but some of them doubted! 18 Jesus came and told his
disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and
on earth. 19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all the
nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the
Son and the Holy Spirit. 20 Teach these new disciples to
obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of
this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

YOUR PURPOSE AS A CHRISTIAN IS TO BECOME A
DISCIPLE WHO MAKES DISCIPLES!

Make Disciples –

2. To be your greatest for God you must LOVE the
way GOD loves.

A. As a disciple you must LOVE GOD

Mark 12:28-30 (NLT) – One of the teachers of religious
law was standing there listening to the debate. He
realized that Jesus had answered well, so he asked, “Of
all the commandments, which is the most important?” 29
Jesus replied, “The most important commandment is
this: ‘Listen, O Israel! The LORD our God is the one and
only LORD. 30 And you must love the LORD your God

with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all
your strength.’

Love –

B. As a disciple you must LOVE ALL PEOPLE

Mark 12:31 (NLT) – The second is equally important:
‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ No other
commandment is greater than these.”

John 13:34-35 (NLT) – So now I am giving you a new
commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved
you, you should love each other. 35 Your love for one
another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.”

3. To be your greatest for God you must commit to
living in a way that CHANGES THE WORLD.

Acts 17:6 (ESV) – And when they could not find them,
they dragged Jason and some of the brothers before the
city authorities, shouting, “These men who have turned
the world upside down have come here also,”

Upside down –

A. You are to SHARE THE GOSPEL BY
WITNESSING TO OTHERS

Acts 17:2-4 (ESV) – And Paul went in, as was his
custom, and on three Sabbath days he reasoned with
them from the Scriptures, (3) explaining and proving that
it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from
the dead, and saying, “This Jesus, whom I proclaim to
you, is the Christ.” (4) And some of them were
persuaded and joined Paul and Silas, as did a
great many of the devout Greeks and not a few of the
leading women.

B. You are to SHOW THE GOSPEL BY
SERVING OTHERS

Mark 10:42-45 (NLT) – So Jesus called them together
and said, “You know that the rulers in this world lord it
over their people, and officials flaunt their authority over
those under them. 43 But among you it will be different.
Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your
servant, 44 and whoever wants to be first among you
must be the slave of everyone else. 45 For even the Son
of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to
give his life as a ransom for many.”
